Founded in 1997, San Diego Hua Xia Chinese School (SDHXCS) is a nonprofit, secular, and apolitical educational organization with 501(c)(3) status. The school is the first local Chinese language school that teaches simplified Chinese and Pinyin (Chinese phonetic).
Our mission is to provide a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for students to acquire skills of comprehension, communication, reading and writing in Mandarin Chinese,to instill an awareness of the Chinese heritage, creating programs to introduce Chinese culture to the community, and to promote mutual understanding between different ethnic groups.
Our school grow rapidly since very beginning. With enrollment over 1,100 each school year, SDHXCS has become the largest Chinese language educational organization in San Diego. Five programs (Bilingual, Regular, Credit, AP Chinese, and Enrichment) offer 60 Chinese classes and over 30 enrichment classes to meet the needs of our students with different levels of proficiency and interests.
In 2003, SDHXCS's Credit Program (Level I through Level IV) was born. The program is widely accredited by local school districts. In 2006, AP Chinese course was added. The course is approved by and registered with College Board. The programs are fully accredited by ASC WACS (Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Colleges and Schools).

For the 26th week we have:
1) Enrollment for 2018-2019 begins this Sunday, April 22. Please read online Registration Instruction and Registration Policy carefully！ Some of the changes are:
a) Current student must update My Profile;
b) Student ID stays same as 2017-2018, however, password have all be reset to student's birthday in the format of yyyymmdd;
b) Payment by check will have a $20 processing fee (add $20 to the total);
c) Enrollment on and after August 15, 2018 will have a $50 surcharge；
d) Enrichment class enrollment begins in August, as we are still working on next year's program.
2) Credit Program Placement Test (Announcement, FAQs)
For current Hua Xia students: April 29, 12:00 noon - 1:15 pm, at I-101. (check-in 11:30 am)
For to-be Hua Xia students: May 6, 12:00 noon - 1:15 pm, at I-101. (check-in 11:30 am)
All testers must register for 2018-2019 school year before coming to take the placement test. Registration receipt required at the test site. No exception for current Hua Xia students either.
3) Performance at Graduation/Promotion Ceremony ! Please send Performance Registration to Zhong Laoshi at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
4) Graduation/Promotion Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 26.

5) Teachers' Appreciation Dinner will be held after the Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, May 26.
Time: 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Location: Imperial Seafood Restaurant.
